That little reddish strip hanging from my hand was my dress, which I'd pulled over my head. I'd put on some undie-things which covered enough to be decent, but still allowed me to show most of the tattoo in all its glory. I did surprise the crowd a bit when my dress came off.
Back to Massachusetts, and then up to Maine and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
This was the year that the hotel changed management, from Ramada Inn to DoubleTree. Unfortunately, it was not a good change. With "security" guards listening at doors all night and price gouging in the restaurant, it heralded the end of an era for the Mad Hatter's. The convention has since relocated.
